Is Money What Employees Really Want?
Actually, NO! According to a recent Chain Store Age survey, both managers and employees were asked to rate what the employees wanted out of their jobs. The results were quite different. Managers rated money as a major part of an employee's expectations of their position...
                                                                                             ...but when asked the same questions, employees' results were quite different. While money is a natural concern of any employee, what he or she wants more is the feeling of being an integral part of the business. Looking at their job like a family more so than a place to get a pay check each week, employees get more satisfaction out of their job when appreciation of a job well done is recognized and rewarded.
